CANDLE TIPS

What's the best way to use my candle?

Taking good care of your candle is key for a great burn. Explore our candle care guide on proper burning techniques.

What is a clean-burning candle?

Amidst the abundant candle options, finding a non-toxic and clean-burning candle for an elevated home experience can be challenging. Many candles use paraffin wax and other questionable ingredients, leading to headaches and poor air quality. Lean more about our non-toxic list for more details. We consider these three factors in making our clean-burning candles:

  1. Wax: Soy, beeswax, and coconut waxes are considered the cleanest options. Our candles are made with natural soy wax. Derived from soybean oil, soy wax is a natural and renewable resource burns more cleanly compared to traditional paraffin wax.
  2. Wick Option: Many cotton candle wicks use a metal core composed of either zinc or tin, given that lead was banned in 2003. Our candles use 100% natural fiber wicks.
  3. Fragrances: Clean-burning candles usually use natural essential oil and premium fragrances, free from paraffin, phthalates and parabens.

What are wet spots in candles?

Natural soy candles may exhibit air pockets (commonly known as 'wet spots'), caused by shrinkage and air bubbles during the cooling process or temperature drop in winter. This occurrence is very common and in no way compromises the quality or fragrance.

Can I recycle my candle glass jar?

Yes! We opt for clear glass as it can be easily recycled everywhere. Please note that colored/tinted/frosted glass and ceramics may not be recyclable, depending on local recycling programs.

Can I repurpose my candle glass jar?

Yes! Our candle jars are designed to be repurposed. Here are some repurposing ideas: a Q-tip holder, makeup brush organizer, snack container, drinking glass, and more.

Tips on how to clean the candle jar:

  1. Carefully pour hot water (and soap) into the candle glass. Let it soak for at least 30 minutes.
  2. The wax should pop up by itself. You can give it a gentle nudge with a spoon or butter knife to help loosen it.
  3. Rinse the jar thoroughly with soap and water.
